Silk rugs are one of the most luxurious styles of rugs. They are delicate, costly, and often intricate. If you have a silk rug, you will want to take good care of it and wash it with the best of the best.
Silk and Rayon Cleaning Procedure
Silk rugs originate in China and Turkey, where rugs are made from threads of silk worms. Today, traditional silk rugs are made of silk or radius threads.
Because pile distortion is the biggest issue when it comes to silk and radius, we wash these rugs by hand instead of rotary. If the silk is checked and found to be very sensitive, we must dry the rug with organic solvents instead of water. In most instances, this is not needed.
